Thor Steinar is a German clothing brand manufactured from Königs Wusterhausen in Brandenburg. With Germanic runes, ethnic symbolism, and ambiguous T-shirt imprints such as "Ski Heil" or "Home visits" (with a machine gun underneath), the brand quickly made itself popular in the right-wing extremist scene. Various designs by Thor Steinar have had Norwegian flags and their shops around the country have Norwegian names, such as Trondheim, Nordfjord, Nordstrand or Bergen. The Berlin branch is named after the oldest Norwegian city, Tønsberg. The Norwegian Government filed in 2008 a legal complaint against the use of the Norwegian flag in their branding. The legal complaint failed.
